Welcome to my webpage! I am both honored and proud to serve with the 3-19th Agribusiness Development Team on our rotation to Afghanistan. It is a unique mission that will blend the hope of assisting a country in becoming more economically self-sufficient through agriculture with a military presence. As difficult as it will be, to be away from my wife and children as well as my school community (Monroe Central School Corporation), it should prove to be a rewarding opportunity to truly serve in a unique capacity. Please feel free to follow my post as I will try to keep it updated as much as possible during my time away! MAJ William Shane Robbins.

Mr. Robbins,
Thank you serving our country in this manor. I have a brother that served in the 1-19th Agribusiness Development Team, Captain Larry Temple. He felt blessed to be a part of such a unique unit and says it was truely a great experience. It combined his love of ag and of helping others. He really enjoyed the kids. Even though we missed him, we knew that he was doing a great thing for another country and are all very proud of him.
Good Luck and Thanks again for your service.

Maj. Robbins,
Congratulations on being selected “Distinguished Hoosier” by State Superintendent of Public Instruction Dr. Tony Bennett. I’m currently on leave of absence from teaching the criminal justice program at the Four County area Vocational Cooperation, which is located in North Eastern Indiana. I’m presently in Paktika Province mentoring the Afghan National Police and I understand that you are heading in this direction. Although, I’m getting ready to end mission and return to teaching back in Indiana, I would be happy to exchange any information with you about the area and the personal I’ve had the pleasure to meet over here for the last year.

Dear Shane,
I shared your blog with my Advisory period class this morning. They are all senior boys! Their message to you is: “Thank you for your service!”
Thank you, Shane!

My Advisory class of Senior Boys–(MEN, as I have been corrected!) send you best wishes for the holidays. Will you be able to have a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving?
Keith is interested in knowing more about what you do each day. His dad was a sniper in Afghanistan!
Are you able to converse with the people of Afghanistan?
How do they treat you?
What season is it and what are you planting/growing?
What is the weather like? average temperature? average rainfall. . . .and we know we could look this up but we want to hear from you. We will have another Advisory period after Thanksgiving.
Shane, I’m keeping you in my prayers!
Thanks for sharing with us.
Susan

Joe and I think of you often. You and your family are in our prayers. “Thank you for your service to our country” sounds so blah for what you are accomplishing. Looking forward to the day you are back home.

Wonderful article. I really could not have described this better. I am not sure if all people will go along with you, however it probably doesn’t matter. Continue the excellent work.
